The sculptural composition

Wind

  • Materials of the sculptural composition: Wood

Wind is a phenomenon that cannot be stopped. It is the force that nothing living can survive. Like everything living is dualist and multidimensional, wind is varied and ungovernable, quiet and stormy. A true artist is totally absorbed by nature in all its dimensions. So does Karen, developing his knowledge and experience, he explores human being through his relationship with nature.
This time Karen takes seldom used, but noble material. A wooden sculpture shows another kind of plasticity and forms another type of themes. Wood is created by nature, and it is necessary just “to read” correctly, to see the image of a statue which can be carved out of this wood. Here other techniques of treatment of material are used, comparing to the work with metal.
The viewer sees a naked young woman who is guided by natural force. Her image not determined by time and space, captures attention by its fearlessness in the face of future / natural force. The strength of the young woman, who is not afraid of meeting natural force, consists in her freedom that generates fearlessness, and the latter in its turn leads to the understanding of beauty and nature. It is the beauty and elegance of the work, the grace of the figure and its exquisiteness that make the viewer examine closely the sculpture “Wind”.
